Peter Ghyczy

„Peter Ghyczy egy arisztokrata család gyermekeként született Budapesten. A Pannonhalmi Bencés Gimnázium tanulója volt 1954-től, de 1956-ban családja elhagyta Magyarországot. 1960-ban építészetet kezdett tanulni az Aachen-i Műszaki Egyetemen. 1961-ben Rudolf Steiner német építészprofesszor asszisztense lett. Később a műanyag kutatási intézetnél kapott állást. Egy UNESCO projekt részeként Egyiptomban is járt, ahol antik romok megmentésén dolgozott. 1967-ben diplomázott az egyetemen, szakdolgozatát rendhagyó iskolai épületekről írta. 1969-ben lett német állampolgár.”, olvashatjuk a Design Múzeum honlapján.

A későbbikben több neves cégnél és stúdióban dolgozott, majd 1972-ben megalakította a Ghyczy + Co Design-t Viersenben. Számos bútora mellett lámpákat is tervezett, többek között a MW (MegaWatt) sorozatot.
